For quite some time now I have had it on my list to write something about Lindab and some of the interesting things they are doing with Revit. Well just yesterday I was contacted by them about the new Navisworks tool so I decided it was time to introduce them to those who do not know them. Both tools mentioned below are free which is a tough price to beat.
LindabRevitTools:
LindabRevitTools is an extension for light gauge steel framing running on the Autodesk Revit platform. The extension contains a complete toolset for light gauge steel framing in Revit. When using the software, it is possible to create:
- Wall tags
- Wall section schedules
- Exterior and interior wall elements
- Material lists for light gauge steel profiles
- Material lists for wall layer materials
- Wall sheets

LindabNavisworksTools:
LindabNavisworksTools is an extension for the Autodesk Navisworks platform.
The extension shows information from walls that has been created with Autodesk Revit and LindabRevitTools. The information is shown in a dockable window that presents:
- Parameters like WallTypeID, WallHeightID and ElementID
- Material lists for light gauge steel profiles
- Material lists for wall layer materials
- Wall data like gross area, net area and wall length
Autodesk Navisworks is commonly used on the construction site. LindabNavisworksTools makes it possible for everyone on site to use the information created by LindabRevitTools in the daily work.
